Inspired by his own experiences, Jon Bassford wrote this book to change the narrative surrounding co-parenting and dare others to plot a different course. In It’s Not About You, Jon offers a roadmap for creating a productive co-parenting relationship, starting with the reminder that the focus should be on the children. As a loving dad and husband and an advocate for positive co-parenting strategies, Jon believes that the way we view divorce and separation is flawed, leading to unsuccessful co-parenting when scores are left to settle and battles to be fought.
Jon’s superpower is curiosity. From childhood through his career, curiosity has been his driving force. Known for marching to the beat of his own drum and challenging the status quo, Jon has used his curiosity to help organizations break free from patterns and innovate. He brings this same mindset to divorce and co-parenting, encouraging others to adopt new mindsets and strategies.
